Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add my first savings entry?
Simply open Savings Tracker, tap the "+" button to add a new entry, enter your earnings amount, adjust the savings percentage slider to match what you actually saved, choose a category (Salary, Side Income, etc.), and optionally mark it as recurring if this income repeats regularly.
What's the difference between earnings and savings?
Earnings are the total amount you received (e.g., $2,000 salary), while savings are what you actually put away from that amount. If you saved 30% of your $2,000 salary, your savings would be $600. The app tracks both to give you realistic insights into your wealth-building habits.
How does the savings percentage slider work?
The slider lets you set what percentage of your earnings you actually saved. You can:
- Drag the slider to any percentage (0-100%)
- Use quick-tap buttons for common percentages (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)
- Adjust it in real-time to see your exact savings amount
- Set different percentages for different income sources
How do recurring savings entries work?
Mark any income source as recurring, and the app automatically generates new entries when due:
- Daily - Perfect for daily gig income
- Weekly - For weekly freelance payments
- Bi-weekly - Common salary payment schedule
- Monthly - Most salaries and side income
- Yearly - Annual bonuses or investment returns
Once set up, you'll never need to manually enter that income again!
What are the seven income categories?
Savings Tracker organizes your wealth by source:
- Salary: Your primary employment income
- Side Income: Freelancing, consulting, gig work
- Investment Returns: Dividends, interest, capital gains
- Bonus: Work bonuses, commissions, incentives
- Gift: Monetary gifts from family or friends
- Refund: Tax refunds, purchase refunds
- Other: Any other income sources
Each category has unique icons and colors for instant recognition in your analytics.
How do I edit or delete a savings entry?
Simply tap any savings record in your list to edit:
- Earnings amount
- Savings percentage
- Title/description
- Category
- Date
- Recurring settings
- Notes
To delete an entry, open it and tap the delete button at the bottom.
What does the Savings Rate Badge show?
The Savings Rate Badge on your dashboard displays your overall savings performance as a percentage of all earnings tracked. For example, if you've earned $10,000 total and saved $3,500, your savings rate is 35%. This gives you instant insight into your wealth-building efficiency.
How do I use the analytics and charts?
Savings Tracker provides powerful insights:
- Dashboard: See total savings, monthly average, and projected yearly savings
- Bar Charts: View savings trends over time
- Pie Charts: See which income categories contribute most to your wealth
- Time Filters: Filter by week, month, quarter, year, or all time
- Projections: See where you'll be if you maintain your current savings rate
Does Savings Tracker access my bank account?
No! Savings Tracker only tracks information you manually enter. We do not access your bank accounts, credit cards, or payment methods. You have complete control over what data is tracked. Your financial data stays private and secure on your device.
How do I manage my Savings Tracker subscription?
For iOS: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Savings Tracker
For Android: Open Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Savings Tracker
You can also use the "Restore Purchases" option in the app if you've switched devices.
How do I cancel my Savings Tracker subscription?
You can cancel anytime through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Savings Tracker > Cancel
- Android: Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Savings Tracker > Cancel
You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.
What's the difference between yearly and lifetime subscriptions?
Yearly Subscription ($19.99/year): Auto-renews annually, can be cancelled anytime
Lifetime Purchase ($99.99 one-time): Pay once, own forever - no recurring charges, permanent access to all premium features
